Delicious Food
TeaTime Møn's chef Yafang was raised in mainland China. As a product engineer for 20 years, he has traveled throughout China and parts of Asia and Europe, and has thus tasted and smelled a lot over the years. Yafang's idea of starting an Asian kitchen on Møn arose after she felt an urge to spread her many positive experiences with Chinese cuisine. This kitchen contains so much more than quickly fried, deep-fried fast food food.
China is huge and each region has its own food culture. From Peking duck, which is the old name for China's capital Beijing, where the dish's current preparation took shape during the Qing Dynasty, to Guangzhou with their adventurously tasty Dim Sum.
TeaTieme Møn offers Hong Kong inspired dishes.
Why Hong Kong cuisine?
Hong Kong cuisine is primarily influenced by Cantonese cuisine, European cuisines (especially British cuisine), and non-Cantonese Chinese cuisines (such as Hakka, Teochew, Hokkien, and Shanghainese), as well as Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian cuisines. This diversity of food traditions, complex flavor combinations, and global culinary expertise have earned Hong Kong the titles of "Gourmet Paradise" and "World's Fair of Food."
With this in mind, Yafang feels it is the best way to convey a bit of the Chinese cuisine that is so important to her.
